Do you need a mobile rental scanner for capturing rooms and small outdoor areas? Then we recommend the XGRIDS Lixel K1. With a range of up to 40m and a capture rate of up to 200,000 points per second, it is XGRIDS' entry-level scanner for rooms, buildings, and small outdoor areas.
To process the raw data in Lixel Studio, you need a 30-day license, which you must rent separately unless you already own the software. The software allows you to process and georeference your captured data. In addition, you have access to extensive editing functions such as cropping, aligning, filtering, and other tools. After processing, the data can be exported as E57, LAS, PLY, or RCP projects, among others.
You can optionally purchase the Lixel CyberColor software. This allows you to create virtual tours based on Gaussian splats from the raw data of the scanner, which are particularly well suited for presentations or quick measurements. (Buy LCC software)
How it works
To operate the Lixel K1, you need a basic understanding of point clouds. A video tutorial on how to use the XGRIDS Lixel K1 in particular will be sent to you via a link when you rent it.
Set up the scanner, open the Lixel Go app on the smartphone provided, and connect it to the scanner. Then create a project and start the scanning process. After capture, the data can be saved on your computer and further processed in Lixel Studio.
Optionally, the raw data can be imported into Lixel CyberColor Studio to create a Gaussian splat and export it as a .ply or .lcc file.
