The PointCab Plugin for Vectorworks connects PointCab Origins with Vectorworks, enabling an efficient workflow for working with laser-scanned building data. It allows Vectorworks users to access precise spatial information from point clouds processed in PointCab Origins and use it directly for modeling and documentation.
Instead of importing large point cloud files into Vectorworks, the plugin lets you reference processed scan data from PointCab Origins and transfer only the 3D information you need. Using orthophotos, layouts, sections, and panoramic views generated in Origins, you can quickly trace geometry and create objects such as walls, windows, and other architectural elements in Vectorworks with accurate coordinates.
This approach keeps your Vectorworks project lightweight while still providing access to the full detail of the scanned environment.
